The 2023 vintage has been complex and peculiar, marking another notch in the cellar. Budding was early due to the heat and drought at the end of winter. Spring initially proved challenging with late rains, requiring intensive care for the vines, which meant a lot of work in a concentrated period.
Summer was wonderful, and the drop in temperatures in early September was very beneficial for the grapes. The rains arrived when we had almost finished harvesting at Menade. The last variety we harvested was Verdeja.
In each harvest, as in life, we continue to learn and approach it with humility. This year started early, then slowed down, and there was uneven ripening of the grape berries. We have recorded a decrease in production in this harvest.
Finally, the result has been very positive, with aromatic, dense, and balanced musts. Today, with the first wines ready to hit the market, the outlook is optimistic, and we can confidently say that it will be a very good vintage.
