    Nossa Tinto Natural 2023

    Natural red wine.

    Made from Tempranillo and a small percentage of white varieties that are found scattered throughout the traditional “majuelos” (vineyards). Certified organic viticulture from our own pre-phylloxera vineyards that are more than 100 years old, located in the Toro area and are planted as low yield bush vines.

    Vinification is carried out with approximately 20% of whole bunches. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are spontaneous, that is to say, with the wine’s own, natural, indigenous yeast and bacteria.

    This is a fresh wine, with lots of fruit, designed to be easily enjoyed.

    The elders of the Rueda area say that “it tastes like the Verdeja of yesteryear”. Nosso was a turning point in the history of Bodegas Menade, a natural Verdeja, without the addition of sulphur either in the field (like the rest of our wines) or in the cellar. There are no sulfur or copper treatments.

    The wine is thought about from the vineyard, and with it we intend to express the meticulous work we carry out in the field. 100% natural viticulture, the grapes come from estates with clay-limestone and stony soils with abundant pebbles.

    Subsequently, it undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation (with wild bacteria), part of it in barrels.

    It is then racked and aged on its lees/sediments for approximately 2 to 3 months. Finally, it is aged for a few months in the bottle.

    “Sobrenatural is a noble wine, a tribute to nature, which survives the passage of time by adapting to change. It is a partnership between its origins and the future. Because everything arrives when it has to, it is a white wine made with our Verdeja that has been aged and grown for more than three years. No additions, no added sulphur, just the experience that age gives, which is a symbol of maturity and of wisdom”.

    100% Verdejo, the grapes come from vineyards with clay-limestone soils with pebbles.

    Fermentation is carried out with wild yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation with wild bacteria, without the addition of sulphur.

    It is refined in the Secala-Menade 1820 cellar for about three years in vats (large barrels) and in earthenware jars under a layer of flor (biological ageing). It then rests for about two years in the bottle. In other words, it is aged for five years from the moment of harvest up until its release.

    Toma de tierra

    Brief visit to Finca Menade to learn about the Insect Hotel, Menade Farm, and the main features that make our vineyards and organic wines so special.

    Afterward, a tour of the vineyard in a 4×4 vehicle will take you to a small pine grove where you will enjoy a picnic featuring local gastronomy (omelet, cheese, cured meats, and seasonal products), accompanied by three Menade wines.
